Job Description

The Service Technician will be a key member of the Temporal team responsible for performing service activities globally and production operations locally. The Service Technician will work to maintain and fulfill Temporal’s customer relationships, products & technology, and service contracts. Extensive travel, up to 80%, is the core of this work.

The Service Technician will interface directly with customers, partners and other external stakeholders and needs to represent Temporal professionally and in a manner consistent with Temporal’s business ethics.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness in work area and adhere to occupational health and safety standards
  • Act as responsible member of Temporal Power’s Service and Production Teams
  • Perform repairs to meet Temporal Power’s specifications
  • Assembly and testing of large precision machinery and components
  • Provide feedback to the Engineering Group on design changes which will improve serviceabilityand function of Temporal Power’s equipment
  • As required, speak with customers on aspects of site operational level and repairs status
  • Maintain customer expectations regarding response and completion times
  • Adhere to specified process during repairs and upgrades to minimize downtime
  • Maintain high quality service records and reports
  • Complete expense reports and travel documents
  • Compile and transfer service data to Production and Engineering groups as required
  • Have valid passport and driver’s license


  • Education or designations: High school diploma with technical and mechanical experience and/or completion of a college vocational or technical training program.
  • Knowledge or experience: Minimum 3+ years related experience.

7. Understanding of large high precision machinery and complex mechanical and electrical product assembly
8. Read/mark up engineering drawings, both mechanical and electrical
9. Understand common drawing tolerance practices and interpretations
10. Measure with micrometers, calipers, height gauges to +/- 0.001”
11. Use multimeter to measure, voltage, amperage, continuity
12. Understand basics of PLCs, I/O signals, Sensor operations
13. Basic pressure, temperature, and acceleration sensor wiring
14. Understand vacuum systems, pressure measurement
15. Capable of using technology and web based platforms
16. Experience with the following (licenses considered an asset) :

  • Hoisting & rigging
  • Forklift operation
  • First Aid/CPR/AED
  • Aerial work platform
  • Transportation of dangerous goods
  • Confined space working environment
